The purpose of this position is to coordinate and implement a strategic communications plan for the College of Engineering; to cultivate a broad range of constituencies and stakeholders; to assist in developing resources to support the College of Engineering; and to collaborate with the College of Engineering Dean’s Office and Public Affairs to develop and promote the University of Maine and College of Engineering “brands”. Qualifications : Required: B.S./B.A. degree in communications, business, English, new media, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in public relations, media, and communication. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Desktop Publishing, social media, and web site design. Excellent written and oral communication skills essential. Developed knowledge of rapidly evolving communications technologies, graphic design, photography, video, and social networking media. Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, short deadlines and changing priorities. Proficiency using statistical inference; to compile, analyze and present data for purposes of annual reporting and for tracking organizational growth and historical trends as well as effectiveness of marketing strategies.
