Bridgton Academy is currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Business Office team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reports and assisting in the monitoring of department budgets. The successful candidate will also prepare data requests during audits, and assist with the administration of payroll and employee benefits.   Staff Accountant responsibilities Prepare accounting related entries in various areas of the business Follow our company’s established accounting processes Support accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation and entry Perform monthly bank reconciliations Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts Provide monthly financial reports to department managers Provide research and analysis as requested Prepare documentation for external auditors Assist in the preparation of our bi-weekly payroll (ADP) Assist in the administration of employee benefits Provide support with student billing and collections Other duties as assigned or needed Staff Accountant skills Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required 3-5+ years’ experience in accounting or related field Proficient in Excel and Word Experience with QuickBooks Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong organizational and analytical skills Able to read and understand technical forms and financial reports Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
