Part Time Accounting & Payroll Clerk

New England Home Healthcare is seeking experienced applicants for our Accounting & Payroll Clerk position. This person will be the main contact for all payroll, billing, and payable processing. Applicant must have experience in QuickBooks and Office 365. In addition, this person must be able to learn both our home health care software and payroll system. 

Duties for this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Processing billing and payroll records
  • Updating caregiver/staff payroll information
  • Processing paid time off requests
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records
  • Participate in annual audits as needed
  • Maintenance of 401k account, including biweekly uploads of contributions and loan payments, and compliance requests
  • Obtaining insurance authorizations
  • Monitoring and updating client authorizations as needed
  • complying with MaineCare regulations
  • Processing payables
  • Maintaining Vendor contracts and records
  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Works in connection with Accounts Receivables Coordinator and Scheduling Coordinator
  • Prepares financial reports for CFO and VPO
  • Promotes positive image to community as well as employees and clients.


  • High school diploma/GED required (Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred)
  • Experience in QuickBooks
  • Ability to process basic functions and formulas in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Strong attention to detail required
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting strict weekly deadlines
