Job Description

$500 Sign On Bonus After Three (3) Months of Satisfactory Job Performance


Provides personal care to residents according to their needs and service plan; housekeeping and laundry services, assistance with food service; and participation in recreational and social activities which promote residents' well-being and independence.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide personal care to residents as indicated by need and/or service plan.
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to residents as indicated by service plan and shift responsibilities.
  • Assist in meal service and clean up.
  • Assist/facilitate social and recreational activities with residents, as requested by Activity Director/supervisor.
  • Answer The Meadows telephone, provide information and take messages, as needed.
  • Attend staff training sessions and mandatory staff meetings.
  • Arrive on time for scheduled shifts; maintain excellent attendance.
  • Provide supervision of residents in the home. All staff members are required to clock out for a thirty minute break after six hours worked, per FLSA standards.
  • Cover shifts as assigned by supervisor; recognize need for occasional schedule changes and for additional assigned shifts related to the nature of service provided.
  • Maintain resident records as directed by supervisor; report changes to supervisor.

Other Related Responsibilities:

  • Abide by all OSHA and DHHS regulations and other safety requirements.
  • Comply with all facility policies and procedures.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client information.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


  • Education/Training (Minimum required and preferred):
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CRMA certification preferred (Required for Med Tech positions).
  • Personal Support Specialist certification preferred (required for over 20 hrs./wk. positions).

Job Related Experience (minimum required and preferred):

  • One year experience providing personal care and housekeeping services to older persons, preferably in a group home setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality job performance.

Special Skills:

  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability and willingness to respect the independence, privacy and dignity of older persons.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and writing.
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible regarding scheduling and responsibilities, based on resident need and staffing patterns.

Cognitive Requirements:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to read and understand service plans and related documentation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to physically assist residents with moving from one location to another.
  • Physical strength and agility to perform a variety of bending, moving, and lifting (no more than 40 lbs.) activities.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
  • Must be able to hear well on the phone.

Work Environment:

  • Variable, dependent upon the needs of the residents.
  • Employee responsible for the impact he/she has on the environment.


  • Must have a background that is free from criminal convictions for crimes against persons, including, without limitation, theft, abuse, neglect or sexual misconduct.

All direct care staff are hired as Aides and work as such unless otherwise specified by certification and shift assignment, or by additional job assignment. Please see addended sections to this document for further information.



  • Maintains appropriate certification/training as Certified Residential Medication Aide.
  • Administers residents' scheduled and PRN medications, per physician order.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation and medication counts.
  • Accepts pharmacy deliveries; reconciles delivery with order; files delivery sheet, and puts medication in medication cart and/or locked cabinet.
  • Takes, records, reports vital signs as requested or as ordered by physician.
  • Assumes responsibility for keys to medication cart during assigned shift, and for location of cart in med room.
  • Covers on-call rotation periodically with other CRMAs as requested by supervisor.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.75 - $14.50 per hour
