Loving Care has immediate openings for compassionate, patient, and kind caregivers who enjoy working with elderly and adults with disabilities.

Loving Care is a home care agency that provides personal care services for clients in their homes. Our agency is a family run business serving the needs of clients from Downeast to Southern Maine. Loving Care’s goal is to provide superior care to enable our clients to remain safely in their home. We also serve Hospice clients and are available 24/7, we plan a convenient schedule to fit the client’s needs.

Job Summary: Provide supportive and personal services for clients of Loving care with compassion, dignity and respect. Provide personal care and hygiene to personal support clients.

 Qualifications/Educational Requirements

 1.     Graduate of an accredited High School or equivalent preferred.

2.     Ability read, write and follow directions.

3.     At least 18 years of age and has demonstrated competency.

4.     Personal Support Specialist Certificate (or agrees to complete training and attain certificate within six months of hire).

5.     Work positively and favorably with clients, families, and staff.

6.     Demonstrate compassion, responsibility, and cheerful attitude.

7.     Able to demonstrate competency in all areas of training for personal care.

Responsibilities/essential functions: The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

1.     Follows the instructions of the client’s care plan and/or Personal Support Specialist Supervisor in providing personal assistance services.*

2.     Work every other weekend to maintain schedules based on client need.                                     

3.     Provides assistance with hygiene, such as bathing, oral care, and dressing.*

4.     Assist with food preparation; serve food, performs errands, light housekeeping, laundry, wash dishes.*

5.     Have knowledge of agency policy and procedures.*

6.     Perform and record accurate measurements (i.e. vital signs, or intake/output as instructed in the care plans). *

7.     Observe and report any safety hazards found in the client’s home or any significant observations regarding the client.*

8.     Report client complaints to the Personal Support Specialist Supervisor. *

9.     Maintain client confidentiality/adheres to Confidentiality and HIPAA requirements and agency policy and procedures manual. *

10.  Possess the ability to follow written and oral instructions. *

11.  Report abnormal findings in client’s conditions as observed and per service plan to Personal Support Specialist Supervisor. *

12.  Follow all regulations, guidelines and policies put forth by the State of Maine and CDC regarding COVID-19.

13.  Other duties as assigned to cover schedules based on client need.
