Job Description
Homeless Animal Rescue Team of Maine (HART) is seeking a per diem Licensed Veterinary technician or experience Veterinary Assistant to cover out medical manager’s vacation and time off. We are an all cat shelter, located in Cumberland Maine. The ideal candidate will be able to focus on our cats in a busy atmosphere, be able to work a variety of cat personalities and behaviors, have experience with administering medication, and would be able to assess the health of a cat. The candidate must also be able to answer basic medical questions that arise and are submitted from our operation team and foster teams.
We are looking for someone to cover 4 to 6 weeks of vacation (time varies). The candidate would be responsible to cover any medication shift (giving meds to the cats) that are not covered by volunteers, be on call to answer any medical questions, and/or come into the shelter to assess any cats with medical concerns. Typical Shifts would be 6:30am to 10:30am 2 to 4 days in a week. Notification for coverage would be at least 4 weeks in advance.
Pay is competitive for veterinary staff per diem shifts.
