Maine Family Federal Credit Union is seeking a motivated, positive and outgoing individual to join our team. As a Mortgage Loan Originator and Business Specialist, you will play a dual role in assisting clients through the mortgage loan process while also driving business growth and developing relationships with key partners. You will be responsible for originating new mortgage loans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing expert advice to clients on suitable mortgage products.
Key Responsibilities
Business Lending:
Work with NDBS to approve or deny business loan applications within lending authority and ensure that sound analysis and lending procedures are followed. Act in compliance with policies, procedures and regulations always.
Actively cultivate relationships with existing and potential business members through outreach, networking and regular communication to identify loan needs and opportunities.
Conduct loan interviews with business members to gather background information, understand business operations, and understand the specific needs of member businesses.
Mortgage Lending:
Develop mortgage loan business through member seminars, realtor relationships, and contractors. Answer member rate inquiries and mortgage questions.
Explain the different loan products and their approval requirements, and help members navigate through the mortgage process from application through closing providing guidance and education along the way. Provide clear and ongoing communication with all parties throughout the loan process.
Approve, Deny, or Counter-Offer open-end and closed-end mortgage applications according to the lending authority delegated by policy. Coach and educate denied applicants for future approval.
Review completed file for accuracy once the appraisal, title, verifications and final payoffs have been received. Prepare file for closing. Conduct closing (or work with third-party closing agent) with members and ensure all required documents are signed, clearly explained to borrowers and acknowledged.
