Role: Chemist I
Location: Scarborough, Maine - 04074
Duration: 6 Months on W2
Shift Timings: Tuesday to Friday from 5:30 am to 4 pm
100% Onsite role.
Local candidates will be given first preference but the manager is open to looking at the candidates who are willing to relocate at their own expense or travel from nearby areas
Skills Looking For
- Proficiency in reading and following SOPs

- Competency in pipetting and using lab equipment
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Focus: Bench chemistry work, including manufacturing molecular assays, pipetting, and measuring according to SOPs.
- Requires wearing PPE (hair nets, face masks, lab coats, gloves); Includes working in ambient and refrigerated environments.
- English proficiency for communication and understanding SOPs.
- Day-to-day Responsibilities: Arriving at 5:30 AM and consulting daily schedules for tasks; Dressing in PPE and working in manufacturing environments; Performing tasks such as preparing large buffer solutions and supporting reagents; Spending 90% of the day in production tasks and 10% in training, meetings, and one-on-ones; Handling small volumes with fine motor skills, pipetting, measuring, and occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.
Acceptable Locations for Commuting:
- Greater Boston area, Massachusetts (approximately 1 to 3 hours depending on traffic and weather conditions)
- Massachusetts (e.g., Danvers, MA)
- New Hampshire
Notes on Commuting:
- Candidates must realistically understand the commute, considering potential summer traffic and adverse winter weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation is essential due to varying traffic and weather-related challenges.
Education and Level of Experience:
- Preferably a Bachelor's in a science-related field (Chemistry) with a minimum 1 year or Manufacturing Lab experience.
- Associate degree considered with 2 to 3 years of equivalent experience
- A Master's degree is acceptable and beneficial, particularly for tasks involving root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
- At least one year of relevant lab experience is preferred with a bachelor's or master's; academic lab experience is acceptable if they worked in molecular labs or organic chemistry labs. Background in performing assays with specific measurements and adherence to protocols.
