MSAD #60 is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual for the position of full time EXCEL/Gifted & Talented Teacher. This role involves working with gifted students at the elementary level and eighth grade. This will be done by working with both a push-in and pull-out model as well as facilitating a class of eighth grade students. This position will also help support students transitioning from the middle school to the high school level.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging and challenging curriculum tailored for gifted students.
- Modify instruction to meet the diverse needs of gifted learners, ensuring all students are appropriately challenged and supported.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support the overall academic development of gifted students, ensuring a holistic approach to their education.
- Stay current with research and best practices in gifted education, continually seeking professional growth and development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with Maine Chapter 104 Gifted & Talented regulations.
- Hold or be willing to obtain Maine Gifted & Talented certification.
- Prior experience working with gifted students is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with students, parents, and colleagues.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Gifted and Talented Education or a related field.
-Maine Gifted & Talented certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Experience working with gifted and talented students is preferred.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24,000.00 - $39,000.00 per year
