Eligible for a $1,500 signing bonus. This position requires that candidates have prior automation design experience.

Summary

This position has responsibility for aspects of concept, design, drafting, assembly, development, troubleshooting, project management and documentation of Custom Assembly Automation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Machine design and assembly
Generate mechanical and electrical CAD drawings.
Conceptualize and design quality automation in efficient (profitable) timeframes with a high degree of accuracy.
Documentation of engineering changes.
Ability to generate and maintain machine Bill of Materials (BOM’s).
Setup automation, startup, troubleshoot and debug equipment.
Work with mechanical components, bearings, pneumatic systems.
Utilize electrical sensors, PLC’s, motor drives, vision systems, etc.
Maintain accurate BOM and blueprint changes for all jobs.
Design assigned mechanical assemblies as directed by management.
Work closely with engineers to develop new automation systems.
Manage assigned projects through completion, as well as providing management with progress reports.
Analyze and record test results and prepare written testing documentation.
Machine build follow-up, revisions, and documentation
Hands on automation assembly and development
Interface with customers to support equipment installation and service
Miscellaneous duties as assigned to aid Prescott Metal/EAM to achieve its goals.

Installation and Service

Manage machine setup and run up through customer approval process.
Assist or supervise automation setup, startup, troubleshoot, and debug at customer facility. Provide customer training.

Minimum Qualifications/Technical Knowledge Required:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
Proficient with drafting practices and symbols.
Experience drafting from existing designs and direct other drafting resources.
Conceive and design of new automation using 3D solids.
Expert with Computer Aided Design software (AutoCAD, Inventor and SOLIDWORKS).
Ability to generate mechanical fabrication drawings, including tolerances.
Ability to generate production job orders and bills of materials.
Experience with electrical control panels, maintenance or troubleshooting.
Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing, system, and tools.
Experience managing inventory and company assets.
Ability to design and build mechanical assemblies, fixtures, and automation systems.
Project management skills for automation projects.
Knowledge of pneumatic systems, components, and assemblies.
Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and ERP systems.
Experience writing and editing technical machine manuals.
Ability to use and understand precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, squares, and scales.
Experience with automated control systems.
Ability to travel to perform service and/or machine installations.
Ability to assist in machine sales.
