Shore Excursion - Certified Tour Guides

We are looking to hire dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our local team of Tour Guides at different locations in the Boston Area. A perfect opportunity for individuals who enjoy interacting with people and sharing their knowledge of the city and keeping them engaged throughout a unique experience.

What you will be doing:

Receiving guests as they disembark from their cruise ship
Leading a predetermined number of guests on a fixed-route Walking Tour with stops for verbal (non-amplified) talks with guests
Attention to safety concerns, traffic, walkways
Build your own presentation with cultural and historic information (Training provided)
Communicating with Intercruises Pier Staff as necessary
Engaged throughout the tours and contributing to a unique experience of Portland, Maine is essential to the job.

Who we are looking for:

Previous experience as a tour guide or working with tourists is required
Candidate must be flexible to work weekdays and weekends
This is an outdoor position
All tours require a minimum three-hour commitment per tour
Knowledge of the history of the City and surrounding areas
Individuals must be able to work independently, be friendly , outgoing and a good communicator
Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Take command in stressful and/or awkward situations
Be able to multitask, be reliable, punctual and committed
Tours require a commitment to a specific number of hours
