Maine VISTA

The University of Southern Maine is home to an AmeriCorps*VISTA project focused on improving the lives of Maine's kids and senior citizens by supporting high quality, grass roots, local and regional initiatives. Created in 1965 and modeled after the Peace Corps, VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) is charged with building the capacity of communities to eradicate poverty.
