Salary: $22.70 - $25.81 per hour*

 

*Hourly rate is inclusive of a $1.00 per hour salary stipend and a $1.00 per hour direct care stipend.  Applicants with Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificates, and who are on the State's CNA registry, will be paid an additional $.50 per hour.

Employees in this job classification begin at step 5 of the pay scale.  Starting salary for promotional candidates will follow contractual requirements.

  • Additional shift differential of $.45 per hour for second shift positions
  • Additional shift differential of $.55 per hour for third shift positions
  • Additional weekend differential of $.60 per hour while working weekend hours

As our newest Mental Health Worker, you will provide paraprofessional support work involving the direct care, and rehabilitation of patients.

Responsibilities include: implementing programs, treatment and education of those with severe and persistent mental illness and providing their direct patient care. Minimum Qualifications: 

High School diploma or equivalent.  Preference will be given to those candidates with experience in mental health and who are registered on the State of Maine’s CNA register.

Riverview Psychiatric Center, in collaboration with the community, is a center for best practice, treatment, education and research, for individuals with serious, persistent mental illness, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Hospital leaders have worked hard to implement changes and establish quality measures of distinction. To continue our goal of becoming a leader within the Behavioral Health field, we are looking for candidates who work well in a team and are enthusiastic and dedicated to providing compassionate care. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is dedicated to promoting health, safety, resilience, and opportunity for Maine people. The Department also promotes public health, operates two state psychiatric hospitals, and provides oversight to health care providers.
