Waterville Housing Authority is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician II to join our team. This position would be ideal for someone with hands-on experience performing a wide variety of maintenance tasks, who enjoys problem-solving, working independently and contributing to a team.

Essential duties:

Performs a wide variety of building maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and painting.
Prepares vacant units for renting.
Shovels snow and removes ice from walkways and sidewalks. Operates a snow blower and/or a snow plow for snow removal from walkways and roadways as assigned.
Performs landscaping duties, including trimming bushes, pruning tree limbs, planting and mowing.
Removes rubbish and performs general cleaning of common areas.
Maintains a safe, clean working environment and follows safety rules and guidelines.
Ability to serve in an on-call rotation.

Responsible for personal safety, embodies proper attitude toward injury and illness prevention, and cooperates in all safety and health matters.

Experience and Skill Requirements:

Working knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and materials used in general maintenance and repair work.
Ability to use a computer and other electronic technology to perform job duties.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and tenants.
Ability to lift, carry, and position objects utilizing proper body mechanics and techniques.
Ability to spend long periods outside, which may result in exposure to varied and/or extreme weather conditions.

Education/Other Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of formal inspection standards
Knowledge of occupational hazards, Safety Rules and Practices and Safety Data Sheets.
Valid Class "C" driver's license, be insurable by the Authority’s insurance carrier, and have reliable transportation in order to meet job requirements.
