About Us
York Water District is a quasi-municipal public water utility located in the southern Maine coastal town of York (population 13,000/ summer population 30,000+) alongside the Atlantic Ocean on the Gulf of Maine. York is famous for its sandy beaches and safe family-friendly beach-town atmosphere. York Water District serves York Village, York Harbor, York Beach and Cape Neddick. The proximity of the “York’s” to the cultural centers of Boston Massachusetts & Portland Maine continue to make it one of the most sought-after places to live in southern Maine.
In addition to four sandy beaches, two scenic harbors, a rich history and other coastal charms, York area residents also enjoy Mount Agamenticus, the tallest mountain on the Southern Maine Coast at 692’ above sea level. Mount Agamenticus offers spectacular hiking, mountain biking and scenic views.
