All candidates must first complete the English CASAS reading assessment and pass with English speaking and reading comprehension of 9th grade level; the CASAS will be administered through your local Adult Education Center. Updated immunization records are required upon applying.

MaineHealth, in collaboration with Maine Adult Education programs and the Maine Community College System, is offering a FREE 8-week, state approved CNA training program. CNAs are caregivers who work directly with patients and residents to assist them with their activities of daily living, including their safety and comfort.
This position is part time and temporary. The position consists of 26 hours per week.
Summary:
Under the supervision and direction of the Certified Nursing Assistant Program Instructor and/or Clinical Supervisor, Certified Nursing Assistant Preceptors, and/or long-term care facility’s Charge Nurses, the Certified Nursing Assistant Apprentice role provides direct care to assigned residents/patients.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- License/Certifications: Must be accepted into an approved Certified Nursing Assistant Program.
