Maine School Administrative District #60 is seeking a Pre-K through 12 Library Media Specialist to oversee and coordinate library services across school district libraries. The ideal candidate will be experienced in literacy, information literacy, and digital citizenship to support curriculum integration and student learning.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate library operations and management systems across the district
Implement and oversee district-wide library policies and procedures
Develop and execute library budgets and resources efficiently
Expand and maintain library collections that support curriculum and student interests
Collaborate with teachers and building-based library educational technicians to integrate library resources into curriculum
Provide instruction on information literacy, research skills, and digital citizenship
Train, supervise, and evaluate library staff
Promote reading and literacy initiatives across the district
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Library Science
Current State of Maine 071 Certification: Library Media Specialist
Minimum of 3 years experience working in a library/school library
In-depth knowledge of children's and young adult literature
Proficiency with library management systems and educational technology such as Atriuum, Maine Digital Library and Gale Databases
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Demonstrated flexibility while working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders

Pay: $52,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
