Job Summary
As a Dedicated In-Cab Instructor, your mission is to provide on-the-job training to new drivers with less than six months of Class A experience. You'll also help experienced drivers sharpen their skills and support those on development plans. You’ll be a key player in our effort to promote safety, professionalism, and excellence across the board.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on training in essential driving skills like safe backing, defensive driving, and load securement.
- Teach drivers to use in-cab technology, follow HOS compliance, and practice safe fueling.
- Instill a culture of safety, professionalism, and respect for company policies and procedures.
- Mentor drivers in customer service excellence, trip planning, and operating in inclement weather.
- Evaluate and document students’ progress weekly, offering constructive feedback and coaching.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of verifiable, accident-free Class A driving experience in interstate commerce.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to inspire and motivate new drivers.
- Experience in driver training is preferred but not required—your passion for safety and teaching is what matters most.
- Willingness to share truck space with students for up to five weeks at a time.
