Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in their assigned school, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- The custodian shall work under the direction of the supervisor and buildings and grounds in the care and maintenance of school buildings.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming in a school setting.
- Conduct floor care activities and wash windows.
- Keep all entrances free of snow and ice, and keep all necessary walks shoveled, free of snow and ice, and sanded as needed, including fire exits.
- Ensure all restrooms are sanitized and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Handle waste disposal and recycling processes efficiently.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs and upkeep of equipment, if possible.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are used safely and effectively.

Experience
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.12 - $28.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
