If so, CHCS has two exciting career opportunities! CHCS is looking to hire Family Specialists I and II to work in Hancock, Somerset, and Kennebec Counties! The Family Specialist functions within a multidisciplinary team of providers including CHCS’ Treatment Foster Care Program, as well as other community-based programs, in the roles of Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) and Targeted Case Manager (TCM). The Family Specialist works with children, foster families, birth families, and outside providers in a manner designed to improve outcomes for youth and their families. The goal of these services is to assist individuals to obtain the support and skills they need to improve their level of functioning within their homes and communities. Services are provided within the framework of the clinical model that works from the client’s theory of change and emphasizes the values of fairness, understanding, caring, respect, and feedback about the quality of services. The services are delivered in a variety of home, office, and community-based settings, depending on the client’s needs. Reliable transportation is required; mileage reimbursement provided.
Family Specialist II
Must have a bachelor’s degree in a human service or related field. Must already have or be eligible for Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) certification; must be able to obtain a full BHP within 1 year of hire. Must have a minimum of one year of professional experience working with children and their families who have emotional or behavioral challenges.
Family Specialist I
Must have a high school diploma/GED and experience working with children and families.
