The City of Biddeford greatly values employee wellness and work/life balance. Many of our positions, including all positions in City Hall, have a four-day week (Fridays off!). Public Works Department is very fast-paced and progressive. We are currently looking for a CDL Truck Driver who will be expected to operate City-owned trucks (up to 40,000 lb. GVW) in a safe and responsible manner.
Responsibilities
Installation of culverts
Plowing, shoveling, and sanding of all City roads and City owned properties with a front plow and wing
Varied work with hot top, ditching, drainage, and shoulder work
Road painting, raking, sweeping, etc.
Required Qualifications
18 years or older
Maine CDL
On-call availability (must live within a 30-minute driving distance)
Some nights, weekends, and holidays may be required during snow events and weather emergencies
A willingness to demonstrate a commitment to the City of Biddeford's work around diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
Heavy Equipment Operator: 1 year
GED or HISET (or equivalent)
Construction experience: 2 years
