About Us
We’re a small, owner-operated takeout taco shop with a scratch kitchen. Our crew is tight, collaborative, and focused on great food and clean, efficient service. We’re hiring a reliable Dish / Closing Cleanup team member to keep the kitchen running smoothly and set us up for the next day.
Schedule
Ideal hours: Tuesday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (part-time). Evening/extra shift flexibility appreciated but not required.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform end-of-day cleaning and closing duties: vacuum, mop, sweep, remove trash, and tidy front and back-of-house.
• Clean and sanitize all kitchen work surfaces, prep stations, equipment, and food contact areas to meet sanitation standards.
• Wash, dry, sanitize, and organize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares; return items to proper storage.
• Clean and maintain the restroom to a high standard.
• Operate dish machines and hand-wash stations correctly and safely.
• Restock cleaning supplies and report low inventory or equipment issues to shift lead/manager.
• Follow food safety, HACCP, and cleaning checklists every shift.
• Pitch in with other BOH tasks as needed (receiving deliveries, rotating inventory, simple prep).
• Light food prep to get a head start on the next day (portioning, trimming, basic chopping, labeling).
• Help to tidy up front-of-house area (sweep/mop/clean and sanitize shared surfaces)
What We’re Looking For
• Previous dishwashing and basic prep experience preferred but not required.
• Food safety mindset — ServSafe or similar certification a plus (not required).
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Team player who communicates clearly and maintains a positive attitude during busy closing shifts.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen and following checklists and procedures.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for the full shift and move safely in a busy kitchen.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and frequently move lighter loads.
• Ability to bend, reach, squat, and perform repetitive motions.
• Comfortable working around hot equipment, steam, loud machines, and cleaning chemicals (with proper PPE).
