The Boat Detailer is responsible for ensuring that all new, used, and customer boats are presented in a clean and professional manner. This role is crucial in maintaining the visual standards of the dealership's inventory and ensuring customer satisfaction with the presentation of their boats.
Key Responsibilities:
• Always follow all safety precautions and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Responsible for the cleanliness of all service boats, ensuring covers are installed properly and that boats are ready for pickup.
• Perform thorough cleaning tasks on new, used, and customer boats, including but not limited to washing, drying, waxing, and polishing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all clean-up areas and ensure that all cleaning products are stocked and reported if low.
• Ensure all equipment used is returned to its appropriate place after use and is kept in good working condition, reporting any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the department head immediately.
• Identify and report any defects such as fading gelcoat, cracks, holes, or other potential issues to the service manager.
• Participate in department meetings as required and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years old with a professional appearance.
• Familiarity with boats and their operation is preferred; previous experience in a similar role is helpful.
• Possession of a valid state driver’s license.
Skills and Abilities:
• Attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good time management skills to efficiently handle multiple boats and tasks.
