Overview
We are looking for a motivated Seafood Smoke Room Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be involved in the preparation, smoking, packaging, and handling of seafood products. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent attention to detail, and experience working in smoking, food handling, or kitchen settings.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and smoking of various seafood items according to established recipes and safety standards.
- Support food production processes by preparing ingredients and maintaining cleanliness in the smoke room.
- Package finished products carefully, ensuring proper labeling and presentation for retail or wholesale distribution.
- Follow all food safety protocols to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination during handling and processing.
- Help ensure that all equipment is clean, well-maintained, and operated safely at all times.
- Support inventory management by tracking stock levels and reporting shortages or issues promptly.
- Provide friendly assistance to team members and contribute to a positive work environment focused on quality service.
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, food smoking, or kitchen environments is required.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations is essential.
- Experience with cutting, knife skills, or seafood processing is a plus.
- Familiarity with the food industry or restaurant experience can help you excel in this role.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions in a timely manner are important for success.
