R.F. Jordan & Sons Construction, Inc. is a family owned and operated business located in Ellsworth, ME. R.F. Jordan is a heavy earthwork and excavation contractor that provides both residential and commercial services. We have a wide variety of equipment, as well as, trained team of 50 employees working in multiple crews in the Ellsworth area which allows our employees to be home every night!
R.F. Jordan is looking for a competent Construction Foreman to coordinate operations and oversee workers at construction sites. As the point of reference of both workers and supervisors, you will be a key person for the completion of a project. A construction foreman has a solid background in the field. Your leadership skills and your experience have earned you the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. You must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
- Direct personnel and assign daily responsibilities
- Supervise and train workers and tradespeople
- Ensure manpower, equipment, and haul trucks are adequate
- Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
- Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
- Resolve problems when they arise
- Report on progress to managers
Job Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- Experience as construction foreman
- Experience in excavation, grading, and pipe work.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
- Organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate and report effectively
- Problem-solving abilities
- Good physical condition
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Maintain Valid Drivers License
