About The Send
We’re a brewpub in Knightville serving craft beer and Japanese comfort food. We’ve been open just over a year and are building something steady, thoughtful, and built to last.
We’re not a high-turn dining room. We care about pacing, consistency, and creating a place people return to — not just once, but often. Our FOH team is small and tight-knit, and every shift requires attention and follow-through.
The Role
You’ll be on the floor far more than behind a desk. This is a hands-on role — we need someone present, leading in real time, not managing from the back office.
You’ll be the connective tissue between our guests, our staff, and the kitchen — keeping service smooth, communication clear, and preventing small problems from becoming big ones.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in running a clean, steady, well-executed shift.
Responsibilities
- Hire, train, schedule, and develop FOH staff (servers/bartenders, hosts, runners/bussers); conduct regular performance check-ins and document feedback; you’ll be managing a team of 7 ~ 10, plus a handful of per diems.
- Manage and be the floor authority on our beverage program - train staff and support confident, informed service
- Set and maintain service standards; identify and resolve issues before guests notice them
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and room flow on busy nights
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen to keep service tight and timing aligned
- Assist with planning and executing special events, trivia nights, and private functions
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations
- Manage opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and daily reporting
- Oversee POS operations (menu updates, comps, voids, end-of-day reporting)
- Oversee menu and specials logistics: formatting, printing, and keeping materials up to date
- Manage tip distribution and coordinate with payroll
- Monitor labor costs and assist with budget oversight
- Coordinate with vendors and delivery reps; maintain relationships and flag issues early
- Support marketing efforts around menu changes, events, and promotions
Qualifications
- Calm under pressure and comfortable making decisions in real time
- 3–5 years FOH management experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong floor presence and genuine hospitality instincts
- Sharp eye for detail — in service, in the room, and in the numbers
- Comfortable with POS systems (Toast, Square, or similar)
- Excellent communicator — with staff, guests, and ownership
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Food safety certification a plus
- Familiarity with Japanese cuisine a plus
- Hospitality degree or equivalent experience welcome, but not required
