Line Cook – York Harbor Reading Room

The York Harbor Reading Room is seeking a skilled, confident, and hospitality-driven Line Cook to join our culinary team for the 2026 season.
This is not an entry-level line position. We are looking for someone who truly knows their way around a professional kitchen — someone comfortable working sauté and grill, capable of handling banquet and event production, and confident owning their station during high-volume service.
Our kitchen supports elevated private club dining along with weddings, member events, and large-scale functions throughout the season. The ideal candidate understands that strong line cooks do more than cook — they control pace, communicate clearly, stay organized under pressure, and help drive the overall flow and execution of service.
What We’re Looking For:
Strong experience on sauté and grill
Banquet and event production experience
Ability to multitask between à la carte and banquet service
Strong knife skills, prep discipline, and kitchen organization
Consistency in plating, timing, and execution
Ability to support or run expo during service when needed
Professional communication and teamwork with both BOH and FOH
Calm, focused, and reliable under pressure
Pride in cleanliness, organization, and station ownership
Desire to grow professionally and advance within a strong hospitality team

Seasonal Details & Employee Perks:
Full 2026 season runs approximately June 1 through October
Strong performers will be invited back for future seasons (May–October)
