Overview
We are seeking a dedicated person who enjoys to work outdoors on the water year round. This job will provide experience for operating your own oyster lease. This is a physical job, there is other crew members and a variety of skills are required to excel and earn higher wages. Experience operating outboards, scuba diving, growing oyster seed, small engine repair, aluminum welding and sales both wholesale and retail customers will increase an applicants pay rate.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily farm operations including sorting seed in a hydraulic tumbler, hand grading, counting, bagging and tagging, HACCAP, flipping cages
drivers license and own transportation are necessary, boating skills, knot tying and ability to swim- because we work on floating shellfish rafts 80% of our day.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment-
- Implement sustainable farming practices to promote oyster growth
Rubber boots, gloves and coveralls and daily lunch are needed by employee
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
