HOURS/BENFITS: This is a full/part-time, year-round, non exempt positions. Expected to work 32-40 hours a week in the summer season and 24-32 hours a week in the shoulder/winter season.
GENERAL: A clean and orderly Ferry Beach campus makes the first (and lasting) impression on every guest. The Housekeeping Supervisor’s responsible for directing our housekeeping crew to assure that the buildings and campus surroundings are cleaned and maintained on a regular schedule, making them look their very best always.
1. Staffing Responsibilities
a. Hiring, training and orientation of all housekeeping staff
b. Ensure all paperwork is properly filled out and turned in
c. Responsible for disciplinary actions/write-ups/terminations
d. Works with Grove staff on bathroom cleaning
e. In the off-season, housekeeping supervisor is responsible for cleaning all buildings with little or no staff
2. Quality Control
a. Work alongside staff and inspect their work
b. Personally inspect all buildings on the campus daily
c. Take corrective actions when cleaning isn’t up to our standards
d. Report any maintenance related issues and follow-up
e. Maintain daily bathroom cleaning logs
3. Scheduling
a. Maintain a two-week schedule to ensure proper coverage
b. Ensure housekeeping teams are working efficiently
c. Ensure housekeeping hours stay within budget
4. Communication
a. Weekly meeting with Operations Manager
b. Establish daily communication with office staff for housekeeping related items
c. Check lodging software daily for linen needs, checkins and checkouts
d. Work management team to ensure all public spaces are clean and ready for guests
5. Supplies and ordering
a. Establish par levels of all housekeeping chemicals and linens
b. Organize and stock all supplies in housekeeping and other campus storage areas
c. Periodic cost comparisons of supplies from different vendors
d. Order all housekeeping related supplies
e. Assure all supplies are labelled properly
f. Assure housekeepers are properly supplied for efficiency
g. Ensure lodging and public spaces are adequately stocked with supplies and cleaning equipment
6. Safety
a. Create and maintain all MSD binders
b. Train staff on all safety related housekeeping issues
c. Train staff on proper lifting
d. Maintain housekeeping first aid kits
7. Linens
a. Maintain proper par levels of room linens
b. Responsible for ordering, sorting and delivering all linens to all lodging spaces
c. Ensure all dirty linens are collected and ready for pick up
8. Lost and Found
a. Responsible for creating and maintaining and efficient lost and found system
b. Ensure all lost and found items are stored and labelled properly
c. Coordinate with Office staff the collection and mailing lost items
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma / GED. Minimum 3 years experience in housekeeping related field in a supervisory level.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Ability to use a computer, type on a keyboard, enter data, create reports, run reports, and use cloud based booking software
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Driver's License.
