Position Title: Interim High School Athletic Director
Location: Old Town High School (RSU 34)
Work Schedule: Early July 2026 through late October 2026
(with potential for extension) FTE/Hours: Flexible schedule
Compensation: Per Diem, commensurate with experience and aligned with the current RSU 34 Administrative Work Agreement Salary Scale.
Position Overview
RSU 34 is seeking a qualified, leadership-oriented professional to serve as the
Interim Athletic Director for Old Town High School for the Fall 2026 athletic season. The successful candidate will oversee, manage, and support our dynamic fall sports programs, ensuring a seamless transition and positive experience for our student-athletes, coaching staff, and community.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee daily operations of all high school fall athletic programs, contests, and practices.
- Supervise, support, and evaluate coaching personnel.
- Manage event logistics, including scheduling, officials, game staff, and transportation.
- Ensure compliance with all RSU 34 district policies and MPA (Maine Principals' Association) regulations.
- Maintain clear and proactive communication with student-athletes, parents, staff, and area athletic directors.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification: Must hold a valid Maine Athletic Director certification, OR a Maine Administrative certification with relevant athletic leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience in athletic administration, sports management, or educational leadership preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to fostering sportsmanship, academic excellence, and a safe, inclusive environment for all participants.
