General Description: Key position with responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:
- Act as first contact for service customers via telephone and in person in a manner that creates a trusting relationship thereby promoting customer retention and loyalty.
- Inspect stored boats on property to identify problems and convey the problems to the customer.
- Prepare accurate written estimates for service work and parts
- Act as liaison between customer, manufacturer reps and technicians.
- Maintain digital job schedule
- Work with Parts Manger to order required parts for repairs.
- Input and track work orders via Dockmaster Software. Enter technicians’ and yard team’s labor times in work orders.
- Perform timely follow-up with customer.
- Assist technicians and yard crew as needed
- Work Experience Required:
- Two years of experience as a marine mechanical technician or marine yard team member.
- Strong working knowledge of parts and supplies used in the maintenance and repair of commercial and pleasure boats
- Ability to read/use technical manuals, parts books and drawings.
- Integrity and strong work ethic.
- Excellent customer service skills as well as communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to multi-task and remain cool under pressure.
- Computer proficiency to include Internet, MSOffice products, especially Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of Dockmaster Software or other marine services software is a plus
High School Diploma or GED.
