AM & PM shift Combo - AM Hours:7AM- 2PM - 1 day a week preferably Saturday
PM Hours 2:30 to 9PM 3 days a week (Tuesday-Thursday)
If you consider yourself a people person and a good judge of character - and spending some of your time swapping stories with world travelers sounds like a good time, then this may be the job for you! The Black Elephant Hostel is a boutique travelers’ hostel that opens its doors to guests from near and far.
A typical morning at the hostel consists of making the coffee, chatting with guests, helping to book new reservations, readying the hostel for the days arrivals and folding some laundry. The PM shift consists of making sure we are ready to receive guests, checking guests in, showing them to their rooms, making recommendations as to what and where they should do with their time while visiting our fair city and possibly folding some laundry.
The days can vary from busy to chill, but every day you meet new and interesting people and gain a new story to tell. We are a very inclusive, open minded and interesting place to work. Starting pay is $21 to $23. We offer matching 401k and PTO
Necessary attributes:
[ ] Ability to make conversation with strangers
[ ] Ability to use a computer and willingness to learn hostel software
[ ] Strong Spidey Senses and the ability to identify and diffuse difficult situations
[ ] Ability to comfortably walk up 4 flights of stairs throughout the evening (to show guests up to their rooms, run up supplies, and for closing inspection)
[ ] Must be 21 years of age or older.
Awesome but not necessary:
[ ] Someone who is interested in travel
[ ] Someone with hostel experience that understand the hostel life
