Custom Float Services is hiring a seasonal water crew member to assist in servicing floating dock systems in the Casco Bay area. The service we provide for both residential and municipal customers involves moving floats from storage areas to and from install locations, setting anchor chains, and raising/lowering gangways. Our fleet includes 2 – 24' Pacific work boats, 2 – Carolina Skiffs, and a 28' lobster style work-boat. The water crew works with minimal supervision and on the water critical thinking and problem solving is required. Previous boat operation experience is necessary. Hours vary with tide cycles and work load, with opportunities to work overtime.
Heavy lifting/pulling of anchor chains, carrying and using winches and other powered equipment, and boat operation is common. Working in adverse weather conditions is sometimes required.
Basic Carpentry knowledge and proper use of basic carpentry tools is a requirement of this job. There will be on the water float/pier repairs needed to be done in season and in the off season. This position will also have the person being a part of one of the float building or pier building crews during the late fall, winter and early spring months.
Pay is negotiable based on experience. There may be an opportunity for full-time employment and our benefits package.
