About Valiant
Valiant Architectural Millwork is a family-owned millwork company that has spent more than 60 years building a reputation for quality and service. We partner with general contractors, architects, designers, and owners across New England on healthcare, education, and commercial projects — the kind of work where precision matters and the details are noticed.
We're growing steadily, and we're looking for people who take pride in doing things right.
The Role
As a Drafter, you'll develop the shop drawings that turn architectural intent into buildable millwork. You'll work directly with project managers, engineers, and architects to produce accurate drawings, manage revisions, and keep projects moving from design through the shop floor.
Microvellum experience is a significant advantage in this role. Our shop runs on Microvellum, and a drafter who already knows the platform can move from drawings straight into engineered, production-ready output — driving cut lists, CNC files, and machining data without a hand-off. If that's you, you'll have real influence over how we build here, and we'll compensate accordingly.
This role suits someone who works well independently, catches the small things, and enjoys seeing their drawings become finished work.
What You'll Do:
- Create detailed shop drawings in Microvellum
- Create detailed shop drawings in AutoCAD
- Read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and field dimensions
- Manage and track revisions from project managers, engineers, and architects
- Check drawings for accuracy and maintain clear records of all changes
- Collaborate with fellow drafters, production managers, and project managers
- Deliver consistent, high-quality work on schedule
