Overview
The sticker placer plays a key role in supporting mill operations by safely and efficiently handling, stacking, and preparing lumber for shipment. This position is responsible for laying sticks between lumber layers, tagging and strapping packages, and maintaining a clean, organized work area. The associate will work closely with team members to keep up with production demands while following all safety and hazard communication procedures. Flexibility is essential, as the role may involve assisting in other areas of the department and performing miscellaneous duties as needed. A strong commitment to teamwork, safety, and maintaining quality standards is required.
Duties
- Lay sticks between layers of lumber
- Tag packages after stacking
- Strap packages
- Keep up with mill production
- Maintain area housekeeping and cleaning
- Work cooperatively with other employees in a team oriented environment
- Follow safe work practices
Skills
- Must have hand and eye coordination
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a strong attention to detail
- Must be able to prioritize duties and maintain schedule requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to keep up with mill production
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
