Part-Time Bus Driver (Fill-In / On-Call)

Chebeague Transportation Company is seeking a part-time Bus Driver to support our Route One parking operations. This is primarily a part-time, fill-in position, ideal for someone looking for occasional hours to cover absences, peak demand, and special needs. There may be an opportunity for one to two regular shifts per week.
Availability to work nights and weekends is essential.
Position Overview
CTC Bus Drivers transport passengers and freight between the Route One parking lot and the Cousins Island Wharf. Drivers are responsible for the safe operation of CTC vehicles, excellent customer service, and supporting parking and loading operations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport passengers and freight between Route One and Cousins Island Wharf
- Provide courteous, professional customer service and answer basic questions about CTC services
- Collect and reconcile parking fees when required
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and report mechanical issues
- Assist with passenger and freight loading/unloading as needed
- Monitor parking areas for compliance and ticket unauthorized vehicles
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles
- Complete required logs, reports, and checklists
- Assist with snow removal in parking and wharf areas when requested
- Perform emergency duties as required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with appropriate endorsements (as applicable)
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Familiarity with safety procedures or willingness to learn
- Availability for nights, weekends, and on-call fill-in shifts
Schedule & Hours
- Part-time / fill-in basis
- Hours vary depending on operational needs
- Must be available for occasional nights, weekends, and holidays
