Committed to customer service and quality products for 35 years, Atlantic Aqua Farms is North America’s number one grower and processor of the widely recognized, high quality Prince Edward Island Mussels, under the brand name Canadian Cove. The company also farms some of the finest quality Oysters, with such brands as Barstool Cocktails, Sweet Island Kiss, Naked Islanders, and Chappell Creek. Atlantic Aqua Farms continues to expand farming and processing operations with its ongoing acquisition activities in Canada and the USA.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, AR/AP support and reconciliations. The ideal person will have excellent problem-solving skills, be eager to grow their career in accounting and have experience working with confidential financial information.
Reporting to the Controller, you will work in partnership with our AR and AP clerks in the United States.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Accounting Duties:
- Full cycle accounting for individual entities
- AR/AP review, approval, training, and support
- Inter-company transactions
- Reconciliations for bank, GL, inter-company and corporate credit cards
- Monthly & year-end GL reconciliations & file preparation
- Assist with the monthly consolidation process.
- Asset listing maintenance
- Vendor and customer analysis
- Other special project tasks and coverage as needed.
Reporting
- Actual to budget variance reviews for managers
- Assist with monthly financial statement preparation and related analysis.
- General accounting, tax compliance, and financial records management of related companies

Education and experience
- Post secondary education with a degree or diploma in accounting
- 5-10 years of relevant accounting experience
- CPA designation or enrolled in the Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) Designation Program
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
- Experience with SAP B1 is considered an asset
- Experience working in a multi-currency environment is considered an asset
- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
This is a full-time, year-round position located in Eliot, Maine commencing as soon as possible.
Travel requirements: up to 10%. Must have a valid passport and able to travel to Prince Edward Island, Canada.
Compensation: $70,000 to $90,000
