We are seeking a dedicated, long-term caregiver to assist a delightful elderly woman with dementia in her home on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9a-1p. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting her with daily living activities (ADLs) and providing urostomy care. She is an incredibly pleasant individual who brings joy to those around her with her constant smile.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Aging Kingdom caregivers provide service to individuals in their own homes and communities who need assistance caring for themselves as a result of old age, sickness, disability, and/or other inflictions. Personal Care may include assistance with the activities of daily living, housecleaning, laundry, meal preparation, transportation, companionship, and respite,
Responsible for ensuring service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies and industry standards.
Qualifications & Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- One year-full time experience in personal care or an institutional setting, such as a hospital or nursing home, or one-year full-time experience within the last five years in direct client care in a home care agency setting; or
- Evidence of sympathetic attitude toward elderly care
- Demonstrated ability to read, write and carry out directions.
- Evidence of maturity and ability to deal effectively with job demands.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Participate in professional meetings when directed.
- Ability to work closely supervised to ensure competence in providing client care.
- Must have a criminal history check conducted prior to being offered a position with the agency
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal hygiene assistance
- Help clients take prescribed medication
- Assist clients with ambulation
- Assist with personal care and hygiene, plan and prepare meals
- Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
- Perform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
- Sufficient visual and hearing ability to comprehend written and verbal communication.
Ability to:
- Perform tasks involving activity, which may include heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing.
- Deal effectively with stress.
- Work assigned hours per week.
- Bend and stand an average of six (6) hours per day.
- Lift up to 50+ pounds.
- Work in a stressful environment.
- Drive up to 50+ miles per day.
Additional Requirements:
- Assess and communicate with ill clients, co-workers and general public.
- Must have a passion for caregiving and a desire to help others
- Must be neat in appearance and practice good personal hygiene.
- Must have a reliable means of transport.
- Must have CPR and First Aid certifications from a recognized provider.
