The Quality Control Inspector verifies finished products meet quality standards, following the procedures outlined for inspection activities. This position works on location at any one the Maine facilities and reports to the Quality Supervisor.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspects finished products, products in-process, incoming materials, parts and assemblies for conformance with compliance. May include measuring, examining, testing, and/or gauging one or more characteristics of the product; comparing results with established requirements and specifications; and confirming compliance.
- Reports conditions requiring immediate attention.
- Verifies all materials used for daily production match the Bill of Material (BOM)/Requisition and verifies all documentation is completed correctly.
- Verifies each machine meets required processing specifications during production.
- Verifies all products pass quality inspections.
- Keeps records and completes reports indicating results of Inspections.
- Follows established safety rules and regulations.
- Follows documented policies and procedures.
- Maintain working knowledge of required regulations, processes and procedures, including ISO requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Key Skills Required:
- Strong attention to detail as it pertains to changes in processes, functions, and results. Ability to observe and identify slight differences in products and procedures to meet detailed standards.
- Strong organizational skills to perform methods of inspection and review are essential. May include keeping a tidy workspace and ensuring quick reference to appropriate tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to report findings clearly and frankly, as well as expressing ways to improve processes, correct mistakes or in some cases assist with writing protocols.
- Experience training others, as applicable for training fellow employees in processes and procedures. If a flaw is found and fixed this position, requires instructing others on how to prevent future instances.
- Technical skills required include, strong knowledge of computer programs and equipment used in in manufacturing.
- Commitment to maintaining safety guidelines and completing tasks successfully and in a timely manner.
Education and Experience:
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO 13485 requirements.
- Basic mathematics abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Basic Computer skills
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- 1+ years of related experience in a similar role preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally lift 50 lbs. and regularly lift up to 30lbs, or use mechanical assistance
- Handle tasks involving frequent bending, twisting, lifting, squatting, walking, and standing
- Must be able to use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects
- Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time
