JOB DESCRIPTION
Rockport Harbor Hotel, Rockport's newest luxury boutique hotel, is seeking a full-time, year-round Line Cook to join our growing culinary team to focus primarily on our breakfast and lunch service in Oak Room. The Rockport Harbor Hotel features two amazing restaurants, Oak Room, our cozy and casual lobby restaurant, and Atrium, our elegant and upscale rooftop restaurant. The AM Line Cook position will support our kitchen operations in Oak Room, preparing our delicious breakfast and lunch menus. Come join our growing hospitality family. The Line Cook plates dishes and completes basic food prepping tasks for our restaurants. Their main duties include preparing and cooking food in a specific station, cleaning up prep areas and making sure the kitchen is stocked.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Sous Chef and/or Kitchen Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
- Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks
- Plating prepared foods based on senior chef’s guidance
- Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
- Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
- Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
- Minimum 1-year experience working as a prep or line cook in a fast paced commercial kitchen;
- Serv-Safe Certifications preferred but not required;
- Excellent communication and organizational skills;
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment;
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team;
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
