Ed Tech III - Day Treatment

Job Goal(s): To assist in the provision of an appropriate and quality education for identified students with disabilities.
Qualifications
- 90 credits of approved study or completion of approved alternate certification pathway.
- Applies knowledge and skills in order to complete assigned duties and responsibilities
- Displays cooperation skills; shows the ability to work as a team member; promotes high morale; maintains sensitivity and confidentiality toward co-workers, students and families and program operations
- Regularly present and consistently arrives at work or to assigned tasks promptly; follows appropriate leave policies
- Demonstrates the ability to utilize available information and experience, reason and reach sound conclusion, make mature logical, timely decisions; exercises safe work habits
- Shows genuine interest and concern for quality of own work and goals of the program; respects students, co-workers, professionals, chain of command; adheres to policies and procedures

Peformance Responsibilities
- Informs special education and regular classroom teacher(s) of any problems or special information regarding individual students.
- Participates in training programs, as assigned.
- Meets with teacher or appropriate content specialist and receives instruction /direction on a regular basis.
- Remains in close communication with the Case Manager regarding student academic progress.
- Follows the educational lead of the Day Treatment Case Manager within the classroom setting, ensuring that engaging academic and behavioral instruction is effectively implemented for all students within the day treatment program.
- Conducts one-on-one or small group instruction with indirect supervision from the lead teacher or content specialist.
- Conducts and assists with group activities, such as drill work, reading aloud, group discussions and analysis, problem solving, and other academic activities.
- Works with individual or small groups of students in the classroom and on field trips.
- Consistently observes, records, follows and implements the positive behavior support and crisis intervention plan(s).
- Carries out assigned duties relating to the supervision of students (e.g., recess, lunch, boarding buses, class trips, to and from classes and/or other related services programs).
- Supervises students for recess, lunch, and boarding buses, class trips, and to and from classes and/or other related services programs.
- Provides classroom management functions
- Assists in the preparation of instructional materials.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information regarding students and their families.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism in following and supporting school district policies, school rules and team standards in all areas.
- Carries out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the special education staff person, special education administrator and building principal.
- Reports to lead teacher if unable to resolve a conflict with a colleague.
- Follows all necessary requirements regarding time clock procedures and adjustment slips
- Substitutes for other support staff when requested by administration (central office).
- Follows expectations in the special education ed tech manual and the day treatment manual.
- Is dependable, has positive work relationships, and a positive attitude towards students, colleagues, and the work tasks.
- Implements the individual treatment plan under the supervision of the Section 65 program supervisor.
- Completes billing requirements for Section 65 services daily.
- Participates in weekly BHP supervision with the Section 65 program supervisor.
- Engages in debriefing sessions on a regular and as needed basis.

- Travel between schools or district buildings may be required for certain positions.

EVALUATION:
This process will occur once at the end of the probationary period, thereafter, annually by the Building Principal or Special Education Administrator.
