Description MaineHealth Maine Medical Center is recruiting for an Associate Medical Director for their Family Medicine Sanford, ME location. The Associate Medical Director is a physician or APP who will serve as the subject matter expert and will partner with administrative leaders to ensure quality of care, patient safety, patient, provider and employee satisfaction and efficient use of resources are met. The Associate Medical Director ensures policies and workflows are in compliance with MaineHealth and regulatory agency standards and procedures. The Associate Medical Director will align their individual efforts with the mission, vision, values, strategic goals, and organizational aims of MaineHealth.
Essential Functions:
- Provides clinical operations oversight of the program.
- Accountable for the development, implementation, and success of the quality and safety of the practice.
- May work closely with the residency program directors and preceptors to continue our commitment to teaching.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the practice leaders and physicians/APPs to ensure the proper functioning and utilization of the practice.
- Serves as the clinical lead for protocols and workflows within the practice- helps with the development, implementation and refinement of protocols and workflows.
- Accountable for the quality and safety as well as productivity and operational efficiency within the practice.
- Responsible for implementation of MHMG policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure that clinical and regulatory work is in compliance.
- May be asked to perform peer review.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge and expertise in the clinical aspects of the practice.

Education and Experience
- MD/DO degree or certified NP or PA required
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice.
