Position Summary Stocks and straightens merchandise for sale in the warehouse. Clears and cleans aisles, and assists members. Job Duties/Essential Functions Essential Functions: · Follows merchandising standards and practices. Aligns product, collects and returns stray items, stocks to maintain high product levels. · Communicates with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and priorities. Writes list of products to be brought from steel, by forklift driver, for stocking. · Uses box knife to cut boxes for display/accessibility of product and to cut twine or shrink-wrap from pallet. Wraps, ties and tags pallets to be returned to steel. · Stocks opened cases on shelves. Moves and positions pallets of merchandise using manual pallet jack. Stacks product from partial pallets onto full pallets. · Observes and ensures correct product signage. Checks code dates to ensure proper rotation and minimize salvage. · Sets up display models, assembling as necessary. Modifies displays for safe handling by members, e.g. , bolting heavy equipment, taping blade edges. Follows all safety and security procedures. · Pulls loose cardboard and slip-sheets from floor. Clears sales floor of debris and sweeps. Removes empty pallets from the sales floor. Operates cardboard baler and trash compactor. Rewraps loose product using shrink-wrap machine. · Provides prompt and courteous member service. Helps members to load large items into their cart, directs members to products, and relates product status knowledge. · Spots for forklift drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zone. Follows all safety and security procedures. · Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery · Manual pallet jack, step stool, wheeled bin, trash compactor, cardboard baler, sticker marking gun, shrink wrap machine, wrench, screwdriver, pliers, box knife. Non-Essential Functions: · Assists with front end duties and in other departments of the warehouse, as necessary. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery Cash register, tabletop/hand-held scanners, carts, flatbeds. Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications Required: · Hazard Communication and JHA (initial assignment), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 1 (within 30 days and then every year), Hazmat Universal Waste Training- Short Version (within 30 days and then every year), Option STOP Training (within 30 days), Level 1 Food Safety Certification (within 30 days), Food Handler’s Permit (prior to working in a foods area and only where required by state or local jurisdiction). · Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days of hire Recommended: · High School Diploma or GED preferred. · Customer service or comparable experience. · General knowledge of AS400. · Basic math skills.
