Job Summary

As a Cafe Team Member, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and serving food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. You will work collaboratively with your team to enhance the overall dining experience while effectively handling transactions, of which tips are distributed weekly.

Duties

Prepare and serve food and beverages according to established recipes and standards.
Operate the cash register, accurately processing customer transactions and handling cash with care.
Assist customers with menu selections, providing recommendations and upselling when appropriate.
Maintain cleanliness of the cafe area, including tables, counters, equipment, and restrooms, adhering to sanitation guidelines.
Ensure all food safety standards are met by properly storing and handling food items.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and retail math tasks as needed.
Sanitize work areas regularly to maintain a safe environment for both staff and customers.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a quick service fast food restaurant or grocery store is preferred but not required.
Basic math skills are essential for cash handling and transaction accuracy.
Strong communication skills with the ability to help customers effectively.
Experience with cash registers and cash handling procedures is a plus.
A knowledge of food preparation is advantageous.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Must be a team player with a positive attitude towards customer service.
