Program Manager - Community Relations

Reports to: Director - Community Relations
Location: In Office, Augusta ME
The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $103,939.20 - $129,924
Job Summary
This position reports to the Director of Community Relations and serves as the primary point of contact with government, community and business officials, organizations and agencies for an assigned area. Leverages strong relationships with key individuals and groups to meet company and regulatory metrics related to company initiatives, large projects and emergency preparedness. Resolves complex political issues to the satisfaction of the company and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the outreach function with municipal, county and state government officials, government agencies, community organizations and business groups by serving as the primary point of contact to establish and maintain excellent relationships with these stakeholders. Outreach includes company issues, projects and initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to deliver consistent messages to multiple stakeholders.
Knowledge of the electric and natural gas utility business and the CMP Service areas
Ability to effectively interact with external stakeholders and senior management.
Ability to manage multiple and often changing priorities, including crisis management.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point applications.
Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
Must have flexibility to travel.
