Memory Care Servers play an essential role in creating a warm, welcoming, and positive dining experience for our residents living with dementia in our Memory Care neighborhood. Servers are responsible for delivering high-quality service, addressing dietary preferences, and ensuring that each resident's meal experience is pleasant and personalized, utilizing a positive approach to care model.
Position Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week (Tuesday -Saturday OR Sunday-Thursday. 10:30am-7pm)
Responsibilities:

Greet residents with warmth and familiarity; assist with seating, cues, and transitions to and from the dining space.

Serve meals in a timely and respectful manner, following individual dining plans and preferences.

Accommodate resident choices and ensure that meal change requests are fulfilled. Provide respectful and dignified responses to last-minute meal change requests.
- Observe and report changes in eating habits, food intake, or behaviors to care staff and supervisor.

Ensure dining area is safe, clean, and inviting before, during, and after meals.

Set tables and serve meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines.

Build relationships with residents and contribute to a consistent, calm, and comforting mealtime experience.

Collaborate with care and dietary teams to accommodate special dietary needs and requests.

Promote resident independence, choice, and dignity in all aspects of service.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Training or ability to be trained in a positive approach to care; strong desire to work with a population living with dementia.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
- Compassionate and friendly demeanor and ability to demonstrate patience.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
- Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understands requests.
- Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers.
