(WITH 10% 2ND SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL APPLIED, $27.50 - $ PER HOUR)

Machinist (train on 1st shift for placement on 2nd Shift)

Role & Responsibilities

× Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose and CNC Lathe machines.

× Apply knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, GD&T, machinability of materials and layout techniques

× Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece±

× Measure parts using precision measuring equipment to ensure conformance to specifications

× Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed and coolant flow, as well as depth and angle of cut

× Must use latest technology±

× Responsible for understanding safety requirements and emergency procedures

× Responsible for understanding basic properties and reactions of chemicals within the work area

× Responsible for handling and processing hazardous waste as required within the work area

× Responsible for completion of hazardous waste training as required
× Qualifications [Education, Skills & Experience]

× High school diploma or GED

× Three to five years of machining experience preferred

× Able to perform set-ups

× Machine programming experience is a plus

× Proficient with all the measuring instruments of the trades

× Able to read blueprints

× Good reading, writing and math skills

× Able to follow all safety and manufacturing procedures

× Able to create and modify procedures

× Able to lift 50 lbs.±
