Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems, including transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, and HVAC systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment, farm machinery, and automotive vehicles.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Operate various types of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, and forklift trucks as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role in automotive or heavy equipment repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair, automotive diagnostics, brake repair, alignment, suspension work, shocks & struts, tire service, and assembly tasks.
- Familiarity with dealership practices is preferred but not required.
- Experience with industrial equipment operation and maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects as required for repairs (heavy lifting).
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Electrical experience is beneficial for troubleshooting electrical systems in vehicles.
- Soldering skills are an advantage for certain repair tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
