Position Overview
Portfire Events is seeking reliable, personable contract staff to support our corporate events and group arrivals. Contract staff may be hired for individual events to serve as Airport Greeters or Event & Activity Support Staff. These roles are hourly, onsite positions focused on guest service, coordination, and smooth event flow.
This is an excellent opportunity for hospitality professionals, students, or customer-service–oriented individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the events industry.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on the assignment, contract staff may be responsible for:
- Greeting guests at the airport and assisting with arrivals
- Holding signage and directing guests
- Counting guests and checking names against arrival or event lists
- Facilitating the flow of guests from the airport to their assigned vehicles
- Providing onsite event and activity support
- Assisting with activities such as guided hikes, cruise boat tours, and other group experiences
- Supporting event managers with general guest needs and logistics
- Ensuring a positive, welcoming experience for all guests
Schedule & Contract Details
- Contract-based position (not part-time or full-time employment)
- Work is event-driven and not guaranteed
- Busy months may offer more frequent opportunities, while other periods may be slower
- Staff are hired and paid hourly for each confirmed assignment
Ideal Candidate
- Friendly, professional, and dependable
- Comfortable interacting with groups of corporate guests
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Able to follow instructions and adapt in fast-paced environments
- Hospitality, tourism, or events experience is a plus (but not required)
