Gardener/Crew Member
Triflorum Designs is looking for a gardener to join our team starting mid April! We are a small, woman-owned ecological and artistic landscape design firm based in Portland, ME. We specialize in lush native gardens, dynamic container plantings, indoor plant design, and custom floral installations. We are looking for a driven, creative, experienced, detail-oriented, and passionate person to join our indoor and outdoor garden maintenance team. This position will focus mainly on garden maintenance with occasional installation work, as well as tending our indoor plant accounts. This includes overall maintenance of client gardens (spring and fall cleanups, weeding, pruning, deadheading, planting, and other general garden maintenance tasks) as well as assisting with commercial installations and container planting. This is a position with room to grow. We are looking for someone who is potentially open to a longer-term commitment. Schedule is flexible but typically 3 days a week with potential for the workload to fluctuate seasonally.
Here's what we are looking for in a candidate:
- Significant experience in horticulture (gardening, farming, or nursery work) and a desire to continue in the field
- Excellent communication (customer or client-facing experience preferred)
- A positive attitude and a lot of flexibility
- A love of being outside and working with your hands - this job is very physical and you'll be on your feet all day
- An eye for design and keen attention to detail
- Strong problem solving skills
You'll have the opportunity to:

- Continue to expand your native and ornamental plant knowledge/ID
- Continue training in design, composition, plant care, maintenance and installation techniques, etc.

Pay: Starting at $23/hr, depending on experience
